Chris Sesar paints the landscape of human experience with vivid colour and delicate detail. He draws his inspiration from roots and folk music just as much as from pop, blues and jazz.
The themes of his songs tackle subjects of love, family and friendship with honesty and sensitivity and social commentary on topical issues with integrity, wit and sincerity. His insightful song-writing has earned him recognition with music lovers across Scotland and the UK.
Since 2016 Chris has been touring with fellow singer-songwriter Gill Halliday. Together they have charmed audiences with beautifully crafted songs and their unique and witty storytelling. Sesar & Halliday achieve a sound much larger than their instrumentation would suggest. Gill Halliday’s intuitive use of wind instruments implies a much bigger orchestration while Chris Sesar’s guitar work provides rhythm and groove with driving basslines as well as melodic and harmonic intricacy. Chris and Gill are both accomplished vocal performers and deliver honesty and a dynamic energy that is infectious and exciting.
